Pune Lohagad Ketan Agarwal Murder Case: Victim’s Father Demands Death Penalty, Says “If She Didn’t Want Marriage, She Could Have Called It Off”
Pune, June 25: The shocking Pune Lohagad Fort Murder Case has taken another dramatic turn after the father of the victim, Ketan Agarwal, demanded the strictest punishment for the accused. Speaking after the investigation revealed an alleged murder conspiracy, Ketan’s father said that the wedding could have been cancelled if the accused had expressed her unwillingness to marry.
Ketan Agarwal, 26, died after falling into a gorge at Lohagad Fort near Pune on June 18 while on a trek with his fiancée, Siya Goyal. Initially, the incident was treated as an accident. However, a police investigation later revealed evidence suggesting that Ketan was allegedly pushed into the gorge as part of a planned murder.
Father Says Family Was Unaware of Alleged Affair
According to Ketan’s father, Vishal Agarwal, the family had no knowledge of Siya Goyal’s alleged relationship with another man, Chetan Chaudhary. He said that Ketan had occasionally mentioned that Siya’s phone remained busy for long periods, but she reportedly told him she was speaking with friends.
The families had celebrated the couple’s engagement in February and were preparing for a grand wedding scheduled for November. Vishal Agarwal stated that if Siya had informed them about her relationship with someone else, the marriage would have been cancelled without any objection.
He added that there had never been any pressure from their family forcing Siya to go ahead with the marriage.
“Why Kill Him If You Didn’t Want To Marry?”
Expressing grief over the incident, Ketan’s father questioned the motive behind the alleged murder.
“If she didn’t want to marry my son, she could have simply called off the wedding. We would have accepted her decision. There was no reason to take such an extreme step,” he said.
He also appealed to investigators to examine whether additional people were involved in the alleged conspiracy.
Sister’s Suspicion Led To Investigation
The case reportedly took a new direction after Ketan’s sister raised doubts regarding the circumstances surrounding his death. Family members found several unanswered questions about the incident, prompting police to investigate further.
According to investigators, CCTV footage and other evidence later linked Chetan Chaudhary to the crime scene. Police claim that Siya Goyal and Chetan were allegedly in a relationship and had planned the murder in advance.
Police Probe Suggests Earlier Attempts
Investigators believe this may not have been the first attempt on Ketan’s life. During the investigation, police reportedly uncovered evidence suggesting that an earlier attempt had been made during a previous visit to Lohagad Fort but was unsuccessful.
Authorities allege that the accused later met again to plan the crime before the June 18 incident.
Family Demands Maximum Punishment
Ketan Agarwal’s family has demanded the death penalty for those found guilty, stating that a young life was lost due to an alleged conspiracy that could have been avoided if the marriage proposal had simply been declined.
Police continue to investigate the case to determine whether more individuals were involved. The accused remain in police custody as further evidence is being collected.
Disclaimer: The allegations mentioned above are based on the ongoing police investigation. The accused are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
