The Raja Saab Box Office Update: Prabhas Film Crosses ₹100 Crore Mark in India
Prabhas-starrer The Raja Saab continues its strong run at the box office, crossing the ₹100 crore milestone in India within three days of its theatrical release. The horror-comedy film, which hit cinemas on January 9, has managed to sustain audience interest despite a noticeable dip in collections after a massive opening.
According to industry tracking data, The Raja Saab earned approximately ₹19.1 crore on its third day (Sunday) across all languages. With this, the film’s total domestic collection has reached around ₹108 crore. While this marked a decline compared to its second-day earnings of ₹26 crore, the overall numbers remain impressive.
On the global front, the film has already crossed the ₹150 crore mark during its opening weekend. Trade analysts suggest that The Raja Saab is now targeting the ₹200 crore worldwide milestone around the festive period of Makar Sankranti on January 14.
Directed by Maruthi, the film opened to a thunderous response, collecting nearly ₹112 crore worldwide on its first day. However, the initial momentum has slowed slightly over the weekend. Even so, the film’s performance reinforces Prabhas’ consistent box office pull.
For the actor, such numbers are far from unfamiliar. His earlier releases have delivered similar or even higher opening figures. The 2024 sci-fi epic Kalki 2898 AD went on to earn over ₹543 crore domestically, while Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire crossed ₹200 crore in India within its opening weekend. Even Adipurush, despite mixed reviews, recorded a strong opening weekend collection.
The Raja Saab revolves around a young heir who embarks on a quest to uncover the mystery behind his grandfather’s disappearance, only to encounter a powerful supernatural force inside a haunted mansion. The film blends elements of horror and comedy, appealing to a wide audience base.
Apart from Prabhas, the film features an ensemble cast including Boman Irani, Sanjay Dutt, Zarina Wahab, Malavika Mohanan, and Nidhhi Agerwal. It is produced by TG Vishwa Prasad under the banner of People Media Factory.
Adding to the excitement, the makers have already confirmed a sequel titled The Raja Saab 2: Circus 1935. Director Maruthi Dasari is set to return for the follow-up, although the release timeline is yet to be announced.
With steady collections and a sequel in the pipeline, The Raja Saab remains one of the most talked-about releases of the season.
