CM Yogi Claims Etawah’s Image Has Changed, Says Earlier People Could Not Get Hotel Rooms

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has made a strong statement about the changing image of Etawah and Mainpuri in the state. Addressing a public gathering, the Chief Minister said that there was a time when people from Etawah allegedly faced difficulties in getting hotel accommodation in different parts of the country because of the district’s image.

Recalling the past, CM Yogi said, “There was a time when if someone mentioned they were from Etawah, they would not get a room in hotels.” He added that the perception of the region has changed significantly over the past few years due to strict action against criminals and improved law and order in Uttar Pradesh.

The Chief Minister credited his government’s zero-tolerance policy against crime and mafia for transforming the state’s image. According to him, districts that were once associated with criminal activities are now witnessing development, investment and improved public confidence.

During his address, Yogi Adityanath also stated that Etawah and Mainpuri have earned a new identity, and people today proudly associate themselves with these districts. He emphasized that the government’s focus on strengthening law and order has helped restore the state’s reputation across the country.

The remarks have sparked political debate, with supporters describing them as an example of the state’s improving security situation, while opposition leaders are expected to question the Chief Minister’s claims and compare them with previous governments’ records.

CM Yogi’s statement comes as the Uttar Pradesh government continues to highlight its law-and-order achievements and development initiatives ahead of upcoming political engagements.
